Still Life / Fine Art Gallery - Update

Ending up the year with an absence of model shoots I have put more into the fine art / still life pictures. Here is a mixed bag of stuff I have done to keep you all entertained, with a strong use of decaying flowers.. Thanks to Amy for all her help this month and this year.

December Flower Update

November Updates

Well as we said before the Covid-19 lockdown went ahead and we have all just come out of the other end confused and in different tier areas. Such fun !

Anyway, good thing was that despite what I said my friends at the Brambles Florist and Flowers for yours did not close and I managed to get some really great flowers from them. Brilliant shop and staff. But sadly there is no fashion / model shoot for this month - nor should there be until mid February, 2021. This is part due to Covid but also Christmas and the fact that everyones skint in January. So enjoy this month’s offering and see you in December.

November Digital Art

With another lockdown stopping me from doing a fashion shoot and my ever changing health, I have managed to do a few Digital Art pictures. Note this month that nearly all of the pictures feature women with their backs to the camera. Just a theme to link them all.

Still Life / Fine Art Gallery - Update

This month we managed to do some more Fine Art trying bits and bobs out from rotting leaves and bondaged Sunflowers to Apples, string and plastic flowers. Thanks to Amy for her patience and much needed help with the picture creations and to everyone at Brambles Florist for their plants.

November Flowers Update

As I mentioned before, its a good job my flowers providers have not closed down during the covid-19/0.2 lockdown we have just been through. They gave me an amazing choice of flowers to choose from, and to which I hope I have done my best. So another shout out to Chris and Wendy at both Brambles Florist and Flowers to yours A thanks also to my wife for the couple of Dahlias she throw in for good measures. x

October Updates

October is the start of what I call the silly season leading all the way up to new years eve and the big belly flop that comes after it on January 2nd. Our government has put us all into a Covid-19 lockdown again, so there will be no photoshoots in November or flower shoots either I would imagine.

Bummer !!

On a more happy note the Lens Culture, Black and White Photography Awards that I entered has now closed, but before they did they sent out this advert below to get more people to enter and kindly used my picture in the top left hand corner. Does this mean anything? Proberbly not, but it does tell me someone, somewhere in summertime likes it enough to use it in an advert. Which is something positive I suppose.

I would just like to take this chance to say a fond farewell to Sir Sean Connery who’s films were a big influence on me as a child and young person growing up.

Please enjoy this months updates..

October Digital Art

Well its October and silly season is here again, so a few digital arts I put together for halloween. The images are titled ‘Clown,’ ‘Assylum’ and ‘Matron.’ You can work out which is what. There is also an one off picture I made for my wife Amy on her 40thh anniversity of coming to the UK. Its called ’Vietnam’ and thanks to Jane for the original carving it came from.

Still Life / Fine Art Gallery - Update

Something different for this months Still Life / Fine Art gallery with beauty in decay being the theme. We photographed these gone over flowers that we had in various vases during the golden hour, I think it worked? Most are in black and white, but a couple in colour. Thanks then to Amy for getting up that hour with me and all her support.

Projects - 'Noir et Blanc' Gallery Update.

Just a small update this month for this project gallery. All images taken in the golden hour just as the sun came up. Beautiful light that time of the day.

Nuria Do Prado Real Shoot

This is a kind of once more around the block shoot with my old and dear friend Nuria Do Prado Real. She still looks as lovely as ever and it was fun to work with her once again. Thank you also to Shadrine at Ka’Vour Beauty and Phil at The Boardroom Studio, Derby. See you all in the new year I hope?

October Flowers Update

September updates and Lens Culture competition entry.

Thank you for coming back and welcome to this September’s bumper harvest.

I would like to draw your attention to a competiton I entered from Lens Culture. Its the Black & White Photography Awards 2020. I put in seven pictures, not expecting a single one to get a second look, but to my suprise they have liked one of them that they are featuring on their sight and you are able to support.

This is the picture

He is not wearing a tie.

Anyway if you follow the link here it will take you to the page. scroll down until you get to the ‘Competition Gallery’ and use the toggle on the right of the picture to look at all the pictures. Mine is close to the bottom. Please star it as favourite …. please !!!

Thank you for your support and enjoy this months blog.

*NEW* Projects - 'Noir et Blanc' Gallery

In keeping with the truelly brilliant black and white photography I have seen enter the competion at Lens Culture. I thought I would do some more of my own. These were also inspired the the haunting paintings of late American artist Andrew Wyeth. His work is stark and lonely, but interesting. I hope I can achieve just a fraction of that interest with images I took in and around my kitchen. A frying pan, tea, beans, apples in a bucket and fashion magazines on a washing line. Thanks to Amy for her loyal help. xx

This new projects gallery is called ‘Noir et Blanc.’

Still Life / Fine Art Gallery - Update

I greatly enjoyed myself this month, managing to create some more still life ‘ fine art images in blue using dried flowers from Etsy. Notice also the more simple cyanotype images of individual flowers from Etsy and Brambles Florist. Thank you Amy for all your help x
